Franco Belgiorno-Nettis founded the Biennale of Sydney in 1973.

Biennale of Sydney has become Australia’s major international contemporary arts festival, bringing artists from around the world to challenge Australian audiences. The 2010 Biennale attracted more than 500,000 visitors to view works by 167 artists.

Today Transfield Holdings remains the Founding Partner of the Biennale of Sydney. Transfield’s Joint Managing Director Luca Belgiorno-Nettis is the current Chairman, following on from his brother Guido and father Franco.
