| Community Investment
Transfield takes an active interest in the community because it understands the positive impact its business can have on community life and personal well-being.
Transfield continues its long history of supporting community organisations by investing in the community in two different ways, through sponsorships and philanthropic grants.
Sponsorships
Community sponsorships are an essential part of Transfield’s business and reflect the company’s commitment to investing in the community. A community sponsorship involves Transfield Holdings providing financial, in-kind or pro-bono support to community organisations. These mutually beneficial agreements are designed to promote Transfield’s support of the great work done by the community organisation. Selected community organisations are chosen based on Transfield’s community investment criteria and thorough evaluation of each application. This means that some programs will not be eligible for sponsorship.

Philanthropic Grants
Transfield has a rich history in Australian philanthropy. Transfield Founder, Franco Belgiorno-Nettis was one of Australia’s first major arts philanthropists and now the Transfield Foundation, a joint venture between Transfield Holdings and Transfield Services, provides philanthropic grants to selected community organisations that focus on:
- Employment and education, particularly for Indigenous people;
- Research programs that focus on innovation in resource management; and
- Ground-breaking arts organisations
