Transfield Holdings
Transfield Holdings is a leading Australian private investment and development company with a record of achievement in engineering infrastructure. Established as a construction contractor in 1956, the company matured into a pioneer developer and contractor in the engineering and defence sectors, gaining extensive experience through its national and international operations.
Since 2000 Transfield Holdings evolved into an investor and developer in the infrastructure sector following a number of structural changes, including the listing of Transfield Services in 2001 and the sale of the company's construction division in 2003. The company now specializes in the investment and development of privately funded infrastructure businesses. Key investments currently include Novatec BioSol, Campus Living Villages, Transfield Services and the Sydney Harbour Tunnel.
Transfield has a proud history of supporting the arts. The company established the Biennale of Sydney in 1973 and remains the Founding Partner. In partnership with Transfield Services the company founded the Transfield Foundation in 2009. The Foundation’s mandate is to invest in innovative programs that help support communities, with particular emphasis on the arts, technology and education. The Foundation will continue to support the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Sculpture by the Sea, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Gallery of NSW.
