Executive General Manager

Bill started his career in 1968, as an engineer with BOC, installing equipment and plant to provide cryogenic liquids and gases to a variety of industrial concerns and government organisations in the UK. In 1972 he was seconded to BOC's then Australian subsidiary, CIG where he became involved in the design of major plant and storage facilities for the supply of cryogenic liquids, industrial gases and new products.

In 1975 Bill joined Esso Australia's downstream organisation where he worked for 16 years progressing through the organisation mainly working on developing and maintaining Esso's downstream facilities. In 1988 he became Project Engineering Manager responsible for the design and construction of Esso's larger storage facilities such as seaboard terminals, LPG terminals and aviation distribution systems.

Following the sale by Esso of its downstream business to Mobil in 1991, Bill joined Transfield where he worked in various positions providing project assistance and commercial advice to the Transfield Group. As General Manager Commercial and later Executive General Manager Project and Commercial Services he was involved at Management Committee level in Transfield's major infrastructure projects such as the Airport City Link and the Melbourne City Link. Since 2000 he has also had responsibility for managing Transfield's major litigation, insurance and arbitration matters.

Bill has an engineering degree in Chemical Engineering obtained from Birmingham University in the UK.
