General Counsel
Chris Bland's role is as Transfield's General Counsel. He has worked as a legal counsel for Transfield since 1992. Chris provides general legal, corporate and commercial management support services to Transfield.
He holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Nottingham University (UK), and is qualified to practice as a solicitor in both NSW and the United Kingdom.
He is involved in all Transfield's commercial, corporate and development work, with a focus on the Group's major infrastructure investment, funds management development work.
Chris has been directly involved in many of Transfield's major projects developments and investments.
These include:
- Infrastructure: Yan Yean (Victoria) and Macarthur (Sydney) Water Treatment Projects, South East Region Landfill Gas Project (Melbourne) and subsequently the Collinsville and Townsville independent power projects (Queensland);
- Property: The $650 million Walsh Bay Redevelopment Project; the $30 million sale and lease back of Transfield's Seven Hills Site to AXA;
- Investments: Transfield Services Limited, Charter hall Limited, ADI Limited, Sydney Harbour Tunnel, and Persiher Blue Ski Fields;
- Commercial Transactions: All of the group's recent major corporate and limited recourse project financings including for Campus Living Villages and Century Campus Housing Management.
