Executive General Manager

Hans studied Mathematics and Physics at the University in Tubingen, Germany.

After various appointments in the Industrial Plant Engineering division of Fried Krupp GmbH in Essen, Germany over a period of 6 years he transferred to Krupp (Australia) in Sydney in 1974 and became Divisional Manager of Krupp's newly established Mining and Materials Handling Division in Melbourne in 1977.

He was responsible for the overall profitable conduct of the division in the acquisition and execution of large contracts for continuous mining equipment in the Latrobe Valley and materials handling equipment for coal, iron ore and other mining industries in Australasia.

In 1989 he became Managing Director of Flender (Australia) representing the activities of Flender, a major German engineering and manufacturing group of power transmission equipment.

Hans joined Transfield in 1991 as General Manager of the Project Development division, responsible for the development and negotiation of a range of infrastructure projects. Since then he has been involved as Project Director in the management of complex consortia and the development of a range of projects including tollroads, rail systems, power stations and waste plants.

Most recently Hans led Transfield's involvement in the successful consortium for the Lane Cove Trunnel Project where Transfield was involved in the sponsorship, development and operations and maintenance of a [$1.] billion tollroad.
