Malcolm North is Finance Manager of Transfield Holdings. He is a CPA and is responsible for the hands-on accounting and finance function of the Group with a focus on the start-up of Transfield's new Investments.
Malcolm has over 25 years of experience in Industry having worked across the Transfield Group in various operational and more recently senior finance roles. He commenced his career in 1978 with ICAL one of the largest Australian companies in the design and construction of power stations. ICAL was subsequently taken over by Transfield in 1988. In 1996 Malcolm was appointed as Manager of Management Accounting for the Group across Australia and overseas.
In 1999 Malcolm took a new role as Executive Assistant to the CFO and in this provided support during the restructuring of the Group and the float of TSL. Following this he returned to the Construction business and later was appointed Finance & Administration Manager for Transfield Construction and oversaw the successful transition following the sale of the business to John Holland.
In 2003 Malcolm took a contract finance role with the Lane Cove Tunnel Company following consortium's successful bid for the tunnel project. He was responsible for the implementation of the financial reporting systems of the new company. On his return to Transfield in mid 2004 Malcolm has undertaken a key role in the establishment of financial management of the new investments with a focus on reporting and start-up issues.
