Introduction

Major infrastructure projects, hard and soft, were the hallmark of Transfield. Transfield Services, Charter Hall and Campus Living, like Walsh Bay, Transurban and Sydney Harbour Tunnel before them, are proud achievements of a pioneering infrastructure developer.

Successes achieved through the contribution of many: dedicated teams of hard-working individuals. Also of note is the contribution Transfield has made to the arts in Australia in the last sixty years.

To tell this story, Transfield invited people significant to the company's history to come and talk. Some of these individuals were part of the 'dedicated teams' mentioned above, others from business or the arts. Collectively they paint a comprehensive picture of Transfield and its activities.

Sixty Years

Now in its 60th year Transfield has embarked on a different future, configured more as investor than developer, more a boutique financial house. The company is managed as a ‘virtual’ joint venture between Luca and Guido’s family offices, seeking to capitalise on the diverse business experience of both, by investing in the enterprise of others. This will allow each brother to also pursue their separate interests.
